Garmin's solution is to perform a "hard reset" and to upgrade the device firmware. This is a common problem with the nuvi 660s with older firmware. POI Loader is free, but ExpertGPS and GSAK are shareware (but are available to license fully for a very modest fee). I use ExpertGPS (the free version of this program, EasyGPS may work, too) and GSAK to manipulate GPX files and Garmin's POI Loader to send to my GPS from computer via USB cable. To use GPX or LOC, you will need a program that will take your spreadsheet files and convert them into one or the other. Most GPS brands and models can use these formats without trouble.
